He led a happy life, playing with other pups, sleeping in the sun. One month, the river ran dry. No one knew why, so there was a exploring party to the mouth of the river. Being young and quickfooted, he was assigned to the party. The source of the drought was there had been an avalanche that blocked the river. Using all their strength, the party lifted the stones away. Being the spacy little thing he is, he lost sight of his directive and wormed his way into a small opening, following a strange bug. This cave was a cavern where gemstones grew naturally. Nobody could find him, so he stayed. After all, he quite enjoyed it. This change in environment eventually led him to develop sparkles on his back.
