My dad showed it to me and I have been listening to it on loop for 2 days, it's called Girl in the war by Josh Ritter. I had to block out the "H" word because children are here, but that is the only kinda-cuss word in the song.
Ok now for the important stuff ~+NAME+~Ben ~+GENDER+~Male ~+PERSONALITY+~Sweet, emotional, gullible. Basically a little cinnamon roll ~+BIO+~Ben was born into a family of 5, which is now a family of two. When he was 5, his parents got a divorce over one of their kids going missing, which his parents couldn't deal with. They got irritable and neglectful toward Ben, him being the twin of the one who went missing. He stayed with his grandma after his family found out about the parents being neglectful. His grandma spoiled him out of empathy, her having grown up poor and wanting her grandchildren to have the best life they could get. When he went to school, he found a great friend, Lily, who he considers a sister, not a lover. She would protect him from the everyday struggles of middle school, such as bullies, the lunchroom, and everything that got in his way. Ben now brings in cookies baked by his grandma for him and Lily and is making his way through 7th grade. (sorry that was long as heck)
