Lydia is a twenty one year old dragon trainer. She first began taking care of dragons at a local stable and had always admired watching the trainers take care of and practice new battle techniques with their majestic beasts. The age requirement to even begin as an apprentice dragon trainer was eighteen, and she had waited so, so long. The moment she turned eighteen, she ran to the closest station she could find and turned in her resumé. After a week, she received a letter telling her she was accepted. (choosing a dragon.) Lydia was thrilled and it was a delight to choose her dragon. About to burst with excitement, she had gone back to the station where they escorted her to a stable that was farther away than the one she'd worked at- it was also much, much bigger. There were hundreds of dragons she could've picked, but none of them felt right. That was, until she met Lavender (see: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/210361637/ ). who was two years old at the time. Their eyes met, and Lydia knew that dragon was the one for her. (the bonding) The bonding ceremony is a sacred ritual in which a trainer and a dragon decide whether or not they're meant to be. The trainer has to stare at a dragon, and the dragon will be unchained for the first time in its life. The dragon is a natural born predator with an infinite desire to "eat, destroy, survive." and the trainer would be its prey if the dragon didn't accept it as its equal. Thankfully, there are many experienced trainers and guards on site to save the trainer if the dragon does not accept the trainer. When a dragon and trainer are bonded, the trainer will be given a feather, scale, or tuft of fur from the dragon which will be their connection. This is a way for the other riders' dragons to identify who is who, and to mark a person so that wild dragons know to stay away. Lydia has two feathers attached to her head, like her dragon's horns. (role) Lydia spends her times teaching her dragon new techniques and practicing with her bow. She's still a novice with her bow, but she's getting better. (weaknesses) Lydia is terrible at hand-to-hand combat, and even worse at sword-fighting. She is much better at shooting from the back of her dragon; she has a gift for timing and being able to react quickly. She struggles with a sword because of the pressure and weight of it in her hands, and she struggles with hand-to-hand combat because she isn't the strongest. (personality) Lydia is very vain but kind and respectful to her superiors. She loves almost every dragon she meets and can be very charismatic. She is also very determined to improve, but this can sometimes be blocked out by her overconfidence.
