She was always odd, not just because of her strange cutie mark, slight frame, and complete lack of color, but also because her eyes are pitch black. Well, most of the time. She ran away from the orphanage shortly after an incident with the owner. The owner of the orphanage had always favored a particular filly, and when he said he was cold at night, the owner demanded Monochrome give him her blanket. They got into an argument, and eventually Monochrome screamed at an extremely high pitch and closed her eyes. A second later, still screaming, she opened her eyes, but now they were a blindingly bright white and glowing.
