Only You Chapter 2 The Dance (A/N. Harpey goes by she/her or they/them, and Anonymous goes by they/it. So for simplicity's sake, Harpey will be strictly going by she/her in this story, and Anon they/them. uwu'') Harpey smiled, spinning around in front of the mirror. According to tradition, when a big community event takes place, Elven and Winged Ones would wear their traditional outfits. Elwings usually wore Elven like clothing, making accommodations for their body types. Harpey was wearing a flowy blue dress, bringing out the green in her contacts. She hated wearing her glasses to events like this, so she used contacts during the time. For some unknown reason, they always changed her eye color to a pale green.. Regardless, the colors went well together. She grabbed her headband, a normal headband with a blue sapphire moon pendant, and put it on. Both Elven and Winged females usually wore headbands with their birthstone on them. Harpey, being born in the Month of the Blue Moon, had a sapphire. A knock on the door caused her to lose her train of thought. She walked over to the door, and opened it slowly. Standing outside was her date, Anonymous. The taller Anon wore a dark purple tux of sorts, complimenting their usual grey-purple complexion. They smiled at Harpey, bowing slightly. "I hope you're ready, m'lady." They said smoothly, causing the Elwing to blush and grin. "I am ready, thank you for agreeing to come with me Anon." She replied, stepping out of her small apartment. Anon smiled in reply. "Thank you for inviting me." They said, taking Harpey's hand. "If I may though.. Aren't your eyes usually brown?" "They are, but my contacts make them this green for some reason." She explained as the two walked down the halls to head outside. "Ah.. Most interesting." A few minutes of small talk later, they finally reached the City Hall, where the dance was to take place. The two were admitted promptly, having arrived a touch early. City Hall was open for the whole day for this kind of thing, but most folks wouldn't show up until later that evening. Harpey and Anon snagged a corner and kind of just stood around chatting for a few hours. By the time it was dark, candles of purple and orange hues illuminated the area, casting an almost romantic glow. It was mostly adults and older teens in the ballroom now, with the younger ones off in another room. The orchestra that had volunteered to play started doing so, playing a nice slow waltz. Most of the older couples took center stage, and the younger couples did their best to follow along on the outskirts. Anon turned to Harpey, and bowed slightly. "Would you care to dance with me m'lady?" They asked, and while slightly nervous they knew this would be the best time to work towards admitting their love for the Elwing.. Harpey blushed, and nodded. The two started dancing in their little corner. Some of the other folks noticed the two, (specifically those who weren't dancing). They stood and watched, surprised that the Elwing that no one liked could have found someone to dance with. Soon, everyone was watching the two dance. Most with surprise, though some with... Much more sinister feelings.. As soon as the song ended, the crowd applauded, as was usual when the orchestra ended a song. Though most weren't sure whether others were applauding for the Elwing and the Anon, or for the orchestra. Harpey and Anon just stood there, kind of looking into each other's eyes. Anon leaned forward slightly, intending to give Harpey a kiss, but the other moved before they could get there to rest her head on their chest. The action caused Anon to blush, but they didn't complain. Instead they simply wrapped their arms around Harpey, holding her close. As the orchestra struck up another song, Anon smiled and whispered. "Do you hear that love?
