Here is my Summer Reading project for the 2011-12 school year. From the .txt file: Summer Reading 2011 [cjcommodoreiii] Item 1 - The Misfortune Magnet All throughout this story, the Baudelaire children have horrible things to happen to them. Their parents die in a house fire, they live with Count Olaf, but he tries to steal their fortune, and plans to kill them afterwards, and they cannot live with the very generous Justice Strauss. Item 2 - A Mask A play that Count Olaf and his theater troupe perform involve Violet, the oldest child, getting married to Count Olaf, but the marriage document isn't a prop, it's the real thing. By marrying Violet, Count Olaf can take control of the Baudelaire fortune. Item 3 - A Hand By law, a bride must sign the marriage document in her dominant hand. Violet is right-handed, but she signed the document with her left hand, and the marriage was proven invalid. Item 4 - A Rule Book With the death of the children's parents, they left a very specific will. The children must be adopted by a relative. The children live with Mr. Poe, a bank worker and friend of the Baudelaire children's parents, until they are adopted. As a stickler, Mr. Poe cannot allow the children to stay with Justice Strauss, the same person who let them use her library to discover Count Olaf's plan, and foil it before it was too late.
