Description

~~~~~~ updates ~~~~~~ v1.4 - 3/18/2018 - Fixed bug where sometimes you get a frozen black screen of death in between levels - Added first levels soundtrack (cave) v1.3 - 3/17/2018 - Automatic restart from the level you died at - Fixed bug where throbbing heart-pickups weren't visible, and quest items were disappearing v1.2 - 3/16/2018 - performance improvements where there is more than one opponent v1.1 - 3/11/2018 - added flying bats - smoother jump Thanks for checking out our game, Escape! You can play through the first couple of levels, please leave us some feedback on what you’d like to see, what you’d like improved, or any bugs you might encounter. We are continuing to add new levels and additional content. Please don't forget to hit that Love button if you like what you see, and want to see more of it! Escape is an action RPG with original graphics, puzzles and some cases sound effects. We will be adding music soon. Some of the features we are proud of are locomotion on uneven surfaces, wieldable weapons (projectile and hand to hand), crumbling platforms, aggressive mobs, and more! PLEASE feel free to remix this game and tear it apart to see how it works! Here are some of what I think are unique features: - "paperdoll" equipment system - clone collision detection - inter-sprite communication via an event bus - (mostly) clean separation between engine logic, and game scripting logic - easy to add new levels, sprites, effects, etc I hope you like investigating how its put together as much as I've enjoyed building it! This game is inspired by classics from the 90s such as Below The Root, and Kings Quest; and more recent retro styled games such as Don't Look Back by Terry Cavanagh. ~~~~~ Credits ~~~~~ Thanks to @LiquidMetal for his awesome healthbars code at https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/10084700/
