For use with MaKey MaKey or keyboard. Supports CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.1.E Most sprites, all backgrounds and all music used from Scratch default library. Remix to add in your own scenes, content and controller builds! Consider teaming older kids, experienced first graders, and adults with other first graders to help them make their own scenes using their own scene ideas and any verb tense rules they may be stumbling with. This may lead to a greater sense of verb tenses as well as engagement with the activity and social interest-based learning around an open structure (scenes and code) and basic theme (verb tenses for US first-graders). I think one problem with the current version of this project is that it might not be apparent whether a scene's event happened, is happening or will happen. I would also like to add more depth to engagement using items like story, connected actions, and more accessible ways to tinker with the game/content itself. I added an animated clock graphic that helps identify which tense has been chosen. This could be useful as one indicator but the scenes themselves do not fluidly and concisely illustrate verb tenses as clearly as I would like. I also want to approach game mechanics in a way that supports multiple learning styles and strategies. I will keep working on it and will appreciate any remixes or constructive comments. Thanks to @skyewriter for suggesting more animated actions that tie directly with tenses and a more sophisticated system. If you have questions or comments, please help me identify how to make this better by letting me know details. Details are appreciated most of all! Also looking for different MaKey inventions that work with this game or other physical inventions (using PicoBoards/Lego WeDo/etc). Will try to add any (appropriate) physical project remixes or complete overhauls to the main menus of the main game such as build instructions. If you try this with a group and you get multiple game controllers other than my "time travel wand using MaKey MaKey," get pictures of the variations into a remix and I will try to add them into the main game. If you remix any other content, I will try to add your content into the main game somehow and/or will add your remix to a Scratch studio about this game.
