Enter the number of seconds per Earth day to see how the days and years' lengths work out! Go fullscreen for the best results! ★★★ Try out some sample lengths! ★★★ • 0.00273790926 for an Earth year, • 0.972972973 for a Mars day, • 1 for an Earth day, • 86164.1 for the seconds in a sidereal Earth day (rarely used for real time), and • 86400 for the seconds in a solar Earth day (mostly used for real time). Because this project uses solar days, the day and year lengths will be estimates in some cases.
I've been interested in astronomy lately, so I decided, why not create such a project and share it with the world? All planet images are from various websites (thanks, Google Images!). Yes, I know Pluto has been a dwarf planet since August 2006, but I wanted to include it anyway. (you are still in our hearts) Celestial Body Calculator: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/211597512/ I got the idea when watching the Vsauce video "Is It Okay to Touch Mars?" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUddy8RGwns&feature=youtu.be&t=3m15s) The time in the link will take you to where I got the information! :) BTW, this is my 50th project! ^^ BACKSTORY: This project started as a comparison between Earth and Mars time. The planets were initially their respective colors, but I eventually wanted a more visual experience. I expanded the idea to all the planets and Pluto to get this masterpiece! Enjoy! #planets #day #year #astronomy #space #pen
