The idea where ras1f got bigger when his super blue Kaioken form became everlasting was from Paper Mario. In the final boss, Bowser is given extreme power by Kammy Koopa, so powerful that the power he gets from the Star Rod can't be removed by the Star Spirits. When given power, he gets bigger.
