Altered Orbits - a trace of path forming a design perhaps I should use this as my logo... DO NOT USE
ALTERED ORBITS I was trying to create a project that would draw ellipses by tracing the path of two circular orbits, but it didn't work. So here I present to you ... altered orbits. The white 'design' is a tracing of a path of an object called the Moon, which revolves around the Planet at such a slow speed its orbit is altered. The Planet revolves around the Sun, only a bit slower than the Moon revolves around the Planet. The Moon is actually looped in and around the Earth, goes into the sun, and then pulled out again by the Planet moving farther away. You will see that after it completes this wacky loop, the rest of the loops follow a similar pattern but the orbit is altered a little bit each time. What do you see in the white path? A moon? A heart? A ball? A logo for somebody? I had no idea pen could create such wonderful things.
