Click "Clock" to convert between 12- and 24-hour time. Click "Interval" or use the slider to adjust the number of in-game minutes per real-life second. Click the background to turn around.
Inspired by Minecraft's day/night cycle. Thus, this project is more of a simulation than a game. I hope you enjoy this project as much as I did while making it! If so, consider leaving a love and/or favorite to show your support. :) Some of the sounds (bird and cricket), both backdrops, and some sprites (sun and moon) used in this project are courtesy of the Scratch Team. The other sounds (airplane, car passing, and wind) come from YouTube videos. The sounds are only here to add ambiance. If you want to create a project that revolves around this day/night cycle, you may go ahead and remix it! I can't wait to see your creative ideas. ;) --- CHANGELOG --- • 3/3/2020: Shoutout to @coolie101 for the "minutes per second" slider idea! • 9/19/2020: The time now updates twice as fast (30 frames per second instead of 15 for smoother animation). Seizure warning for high "minutes per second" values! • 1/29/2021: Added a couple of sound effects: "Tropical Birds" and "Crickets." • 4/19/2023: Changed the "Clock" and "Interval" buttons from bitmap to vector. Also added a "frames per second" variable, allowing the time to update at the same rate regardless of lag (sorry, Turbo Mode fans). Finally, the sun, moon, and brightness now vary sinusoidally (like a sine wave) instead of linearly (like a straight line). • 4/15/2024: Added the day number and moon phases! #day #night #time #lapse #clock #simulation #cycle
