The small dog roamed the streets as harsh cold winter air tugged his fur. Every paw step felt heavy and painful. The sky was a dark gray and a down casting feeling floated through the somber town. Still, he lifted his head high, courage pulsing through him. He would one day explore the whole world on a boat. As soon as he reached the docks, a sudden feeling of hope flooded over the young pup. The dock was made of cypress wood and held by sturdy posts. He would willingly head towards a small boat that was tied to the deck by a small blue rope. He leaped on, not knowing that the small rope would snap. Off he went, into the seas. This was a dream come true for him, at least for a while. He gripped a small rope, called the main sheet with his teeth, pulling it tightly. How would he balance it all? He had to control the rudder and watch out for the boom. Soon, he was all caught up in a mess, unidentified ropes were everywhere and there was no way he could steer at the same time. His boat started spinning in circles uncontrollably, round and a round. Ann, a young sailor, looked around for her boat. Surely it couldn't have sailed it's self away. She then looked out farther, and saw a small spinning object, her boat? She looked around for the nearest boat, all she could find was a small opti on it's side, " It's now or never. " The young blonde mumbled under her breath. The small dog panicked, he knew everything about this boat, the jib foot, the stern, the everything, just why couldn't he do it? The golden pup gazed off, trying to catch sight of the object heading toward him, but the boat was spinning too fast. He tucked his head onto his paws and whimpered, would he ever get out of this mess. Then- it stopped. He looked up and saw this sandy blonde girl with emerald eyes. She was tying her boat to his. What was she doing, was she saving me? Then, she started to pet me. Ann would safely dock the two and tie the two boats to two separate cleats so they wouldn't bump into each other. She then remembered the dog, did he have an owner? " Um, hello there. " She talked to the dog, not expecting it to bark back. She smiled and looked for a collar, but there was none. Maybe it would just be better if her and the dog stayed together. Her and her new companion, Sailor.
