Space to look at each step. If you cannot read the steps for some reason. Here they are. Check For Danger (D), move any hazards away from you, the casualty and others. The danger may be glass, sharp objects or other people. Get a Response (R) , ask the casualty if they are alright or if they can move from the hazard if you cannot move it. Cover the wound with a jumper or thick clothing, if you cannot cover it, get the casualty to squeeze the sides. If there is anything in the wound, do not take it out, it will make the bleeding worse. Shout for Help (S), self-explanatory Ask someone to dial 112 or find a first aid kit, preferably the latter. If no-one is around, do it yourself (after you elevate the wound) Elevate the wound, get the casualty's head to rest on a soft surface so they can elevate the wound. If you do get a first aid kit, put some gloves on because it will get messy and then if possible, put a proper bandage on. Keep the casualty warm by putting a coat/bandage on them. Stay with the casualty until help arrives. If no one arrived to dial 112, do it yourself, then stay with the casualty until help arrives.
This is the serious bleeding casualty for Heart Start.
