Instructions

Navigate around the menus through the use of the buttons (i.e. viewing highscores, changing difficulty, etc). After clicking "Start", use the mouse to move the ship through space. Click and hold to use the brake function. The game is over when you run out of fuel. Fly through the purple (common) and yellow (extremely rare) rings to gain points and fuel. Hitting a red "X" ring will deduct points and fuel. Missing purples rings will also deduct fuel. In the original game modes (Leisure, Moderate, & Insane), the game starts slow and gradually speeds up to the point of impossibility. In the new Frenetic mode, the game starts already at a fast pace so you can jump into fast play quickly. However, in Frenetic mode, your fuel consumption gradually increases instead of the game speed. Golden rings are disabled in Frenetic mode. Each difficulty has a separate highscore. Username block is for highscores. NOTE: Press "Z" to toggle the FPS counter while ingame. For me, the game runs at 38 FPS or higher in 480x360, while fullscreen gets only 23 to 27. IMPORTANT: If the engine lights on the ship appear misaligned, press "W" on your keyboard to reset them. IMPORTANT: If for some reason the game stops working (as I've seen in the development process), press "Q" on your keyboard to reset the runtime. This will solve 99% of problems. Pressing it twice will also fix cloning and event glitches. If all else fails, then just click the green flag.

Description

This is my latest big project! (the last being Overkill Apache) I wanted to make a game with my Starfield engine, so this was created. Enjoy! NOTICE: Curated by @Zykon on 6/11/14 - my second front-page! Thanks a lot! This is now my most popular project by far :D NOTICE: I'm starting to see remixes popping up, which is good, but some of them are null remixes - they are just copies. That's called plagiarism. If you're going to remix this, please actually change something. Let me know if anything is glitchy for you! And if you're feel braggy, throw your framerate in a comment. :P NOTE: I decided to release (most of) the resource files that I used in this game for you Scratchers to examine and scrutinize. :) They can be downloaded from Dropbox and MediaFire in a ZIP archive: http://tinyurl.com/SpatialAnomaliesDropbox121 http://tinyurl.com/SpatialAnomaliesMediaFire121 NOTE: Like the look of the starfield? Here's the standalone version of it: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/18306048/ NOTE: This was largely inspired by Audiosurf, one of my all time favorite games. ~TiberiumFusion~
