For @vivovi's AC round 3. Theme was "Adventure". The girl in this picture is arriving in the square in Santiago de Compostela (literally, St. James of the Compostela region), a beautiful town in northwestern Spain. Its cathedral is one of the world's most popular pilgrimage sites. Because it's in the Galician region of Spain, it's rich in Celtic culture (read: bagpipes) as well as that of its native country. A couple of summers ago, I had the good luck to visit there in the days leading up to the Festival of St. James, when there are more people there than any other time of year. I wasn't there as a pilgrim, but it was a really amazing trip anyway. At one point, I sat in the square, not far from where this girl is standing, and painted the Catedral de Santiago (Cathedral of St. James) in watercolors. This is my computer rendition. Some of the clouds are so gray not to make the picture look ominous, but because that's just what the weather is always like in Santiago. X3 (Normally there are more people there though :P) Seriously, this pic doesn't do the place justice.
