I've always had ideas of games that mostly revolved around 2D action that IMO could've been only created if I had used a type of 2D engine and since the engine is being made by me, it's simpler to work with it and know it's abilities and limitations (obviously) unlike a complex engine that was designed with a specific intention, yet is only built around the specific intentionz therefore limiting it's capabilities while on the other hand, a simple run and jump engine can allow someone to easily build upon it. Despite Sonic appearing in this project, I've added some platforming aspects that resemble Vectorman, as I'm also interested in making a Vectorman game (plus I believe overtime I've attained some sprite ripping tools to help me possibly rip some sprites) it may sound like I'm completely throwing the idea of "simple run and jump engine" out the window, Vectorman literally has little distinctive qualities in his engine or whatever from his two games, so yeah.
