They became mates and one day had a single kit, Sun streak. But one day, when she, Russet leaves, and Sun streak were on the way home from hunting, they were crossing a river during a storm when a wave hit them. All three of them were swept down the river, but Shaded moon managed to grab onto a rock and drag herself to shore. But Russet leaves and Sun streak had drowned, and she found their bodies the next day. When the healer asked her to be the healer to-be, she accepted, and ever since the day the healer died and left her in his place she has vowed that she would care for her tribe like her kits to make it up for losing Russet leaves and Sun streak.
