Nicknames: "The Hypocritical Logo", "The Contradictory Logo", "Lo-Tech", "Lo-Tech Video", "Laurel Wreath of Doom" Logo: On a black background, we see "Hi-Tech" in a stylized, multicolored font consisting of the colors blue, yellow, pink, red, and purple zoom in to the center of the screen, leaving a shadow trail in the process. The "Hi-Tech" turns red, and "VIDEO" in a different font but using the same colors zooms out from the bottom of the screen, leaving a shadow trail as well. The "VIDEO" turns golden yellow, and a cerulean blue laurel wreath is "drawn" around the words. Once it's drawn, the wreath "flashes" at the screen using the trail effect. FX/SFX: The zooming, the trail, and the "drawing." Cheesy Factor: The low-tech effects just contradict the logo's name; the whole logo is really gaudy and cheap-looking. Then again, it's probably what you expect of a low-budget company. Music/Sounds: A bombastic orchestral fanfare with horns and screeching flutes, which is part of "Gayane Suite" by Soviet-Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian. Availability: Check Greek SECAM tapes from the 1980s for this logo (of course, since sometime in the '90s, Greece uses PAL). Scare Factor: Medium to high. The flashing, gaudiness, dark background, and that awful fanfare will scare quite a few people. However, you may laugh at how contradictory the name is.
