Instructions

Fibonacci Sunflower 2 - Click the Green Flag. Every Flag click alternates between 2 different costumes. The simulated Sunflower head has 21 clockwise and 34 anticlockwise Spirals - successive terms of the Fibonacci Series. Counting from the inside, 8 clockwise and 13 anticlockwise Spirals can be seen, an observation I believe may also be reflected in real Sunflowers, but this isn't documented in the literature I've read. Maybe the ellipse Sprite result is more akin to a pineapple or pine-cone - more examples of mathematics in Nature.

Description

Created by @gregatku for use in Classes for Kids Unlimited. Students can build this project if they wish to, as the code is fairly simple. It is another follow-up to the Fibonacci Spiral exercise. Here we create clones (very large initially) in ever decreasing size. Each clone is spawned after turning the number of degrees that divides the circumference of a circle into 2 arcs that are in the Golden Ratio with each other (the Golden Angle - close to 137.5 degrees).
