They heard rumors that there were bones in the forest, and they wanted to see if they could find any. One day they were digging when the youngest cried out that he had hit something. The other two came to help him uncover it, revealing an old and dirty skull. Not being able to identify what species it was, they all decided they would go home and research it. Later that night, the older two snuck out to the forest, greedy and wanting the skull for themselves. They both arrived, neither noticing eachother. But once they got there, they realised the skull was gone. Discouraged, they turned to leave. But as they tried to leave, they heard a growl. Whipping around, they saw a beast. It had matted fur the colour of sand and mud, a long, snakelike tail with a feathered tip, and a flower crown. But the most terrifying thing about this beast was that instead of a head, the skull they had uncovered sat above it's shoulders. They cried out in terror, now realising eachother, but it was too late. The creature let out a terrifying roar, springing towards the two. The next morning the youngest returned to the area, keeping his promise. But what he saw confused him greatly. Instead of just the half-buried skull in the ground, two human skulls now lay there as well, just as dirty and ancient and mysterious as the first.
