Press the space key to conduct a transaction. Each time, the change you receive is a random amount between $0.01 and $0.99. Coins are dispersed as efficiently as possible - i.e. for each transaction, you receive the maximum number of quarters, then the maximum number of dimes, then the maximum number of nickels, then the maximum number of pennies. NEW! Press T to do 1000 transactions in a row (no coin animation).
I was inspired to make this project after taking a big jar of coins to the supermarket to be counted and turned into paper currency. I never spend any coins, and I empty the coin jar every six months or so. The total value of the coins is generally in the $50 to $60 range. I was curious about how many transactions it takes to receive enough change to fill the jar, and what the distribution and total value of different coin types is each time.
