Just press green flag and use TURBO to see an animation of pattern after pattern of wheel curves. The animation will go on till you press the red stop button. Then press v, adjust some variables, press v and green flag again. - k is an integer, usually but not always it gives k-fold symmetry - n is the number of curves (1-12) - s is the scale factor - w1 is the angular velocity of the first wheel - p1-p4 are the initial phases of the wheels as multiples of 30 degrees - a, b, c determine the values of w2 - w4, see notes below - all variables except s are integers
- Four wheels with radii r1-r4, angular velocities w1-w4 and phases ph1-ph4. For rotational symmetry: w2=w1+ka, w3=w1+kb, w4=w1+kc (k,a,b,c integers). - For n=1 (only one curve) I like to watch the animation without TURBO. For some number values two or more whole turns around are needed for drawing the whole curve - I think that those are especially interesting to look at! - Please, let me know if you find any number values that cause problems with the curve drawing!
