"why do you have a picture of king sonic up there?" you may ask me, the reason I have a picture of king sonic up there is because I think this would really fit as a theme for him. Just think about the lyrics for a moment, to me it sounds like sonic is passing down the title of hero down to his son (speedy), but at the same time it also sounds like even though sonic is old, it won't stop him from being the hero he was in his prime time. (and to anyone who's never heard of me before: speedy is my fan character, he's not in the cannon sonic the hedgehog series what so ever)
