IMPORTANT - Make sure you press the SPACE BAR after Director Dendritic says anything. As you play this game you will learn about the immune system of the human body and how it responds to invading bacterial pathogens. The immune system is very complicated and difficult so I have enlisted the help of a white blood cell called Director Dendritic. At different points throughout the game Director Dendritic will appear to explain what is happening or how to play the game. Although I have tried to keep his words to a minimum (so it doesn’t interrupt the flow of the game) longer explanations are required at some key points. Initially I included the inter-cellular aspects of the immune response (viral infection) but it made the game very complicated and difficult to follow. So I decided to focus on one type of immune response (bacterial infection). I think I have found a good balance between providing enough information so that you can learn about the immune system but not so much that it overwhelms the game.
