GAME ENTRY [Didn't place, but congratz to all who did =D] ~~~~~~~~~~~ ♡Backstory♡ ~~~~~~~~~~~ (In this game you are Vivian (right side of screen).) You've been invited to tea with 2 of the most famous tea-drinkers of all time, Tea-drinking Girl & Tea-Drinking Guy. Of course, you accept. However, when you get there you learn just how hard it is to a keep a conversation going, especially when it's too people who say completely random [literally random: you can see inside XD] things. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ♡How to Play♡ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *You have to keep the conversation going. So, it's best if you know what the conversation's about. You can follow the conversation by reading what appears in the blue box at the top. *When someone talks to you (each statement (unless it's a reply to the previous statement) has a 66% chance of being directed to you), you can do 1 of 3 things: (1) Deflect there question/comment back with a quick reply. For example, if someone were to say, "I love your dress by the way." You could deflect and say, "Well, yours is beautiful, where'd you get it?" Then they're talking about themselves and the conversation continues. (The sentence wouldn't be that normal though) However, if you're deflecting too much, they'll think their questions just aren't worth your time. Don't do that. [Too much would mean deflecting more than once in one minute.] (2) You can answer/reply, but you may have to elaborate. However, this can be the best way to go so that they don't get annoyed with your question deflecting, and it's a safer bet than option 3. But, if you're elaborating becomes too off base, it becomes silent, so I suggest following the conversation and remember what the famous person said to you. (3) Pivot. You can just completely change topics. This is the most dangerous one to do because there is a 50% chance that your pivot will be off topic. If it is off topic there is a 50% they'll just go with it. However, if they call you out, you'll have to use a save. But if it goes as planned, it's a quick and easy way to move on when you've deflected a lot. Unlike deflecting, you can pivot as much as you want without annoying people. (*) If you don't pick one fast enough, it gets awkward and you lose. (*) You have to hold down your answer [on the keyboard that is] until something happens. It'll tell you in the blue box, so don't worry. *Like every conversation, there is randomly silence. Even if you're in the middle of talking EVERYTHING will just stop. If they stop talking, you'll have to break the silence before it gets too awkward by picking something to talk about. Make sure they can relate. If you fail at breaking silence in time or you pick a terrible conversation topic, you'll have to use a cupcake to continue. *You get 5 saves. There are up to 5 cupcakes on a tray that a waiter has. You start with all of them, but whenever you lose, you can use a cupcake (if you have any left). Click the cupcake tray to use a save (IT DOES NOT SAVE THE GAME, IT CONTINUES IT), but only click it once or you risk wasting a life. *You're timed by the way. :3 You have to answer in certain amounts of time. Plus, once the game is over, you can see how many seconds you played. *There are a lot of instructions, but I think you'll get it ;D ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ♡Other Information♡ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *You wouldn't believe how much code is in this it took DAYS, I thought it would take a few hours . . . NOPE . . . DAYS! TO be fair, I didn't plan on doing this much or making it this intricate. can't believe how little assets there are xD I don't mean scripts when I say code, I mean individual blocks. :P *Sentences are randomly generated. No one said the sentences would make sense. *If you see inside and look at the (non-chibi) character costumes, you can see the palettes I used. Except for the butler because I did him way after the others and I'm lazy. *Here's how the sentences are structured: "(Independent Clause)(noun)(verb)(second noun OR adjective)(Punctuation)(Character saying line)(asks/says to)(Character sentence is directed to). *The longest sentence that can be randomly generated is, "I'm no expert, but understanding hakuna matatas Sponge Bob. Tea-drinking Girl says to Tea-Drinking Boy." *I don't usually use anime, kawaii, or chibi art (though I have before), but I thought I would do something along those lines in honor of @Rosyda and her reaching 4000. Congratz! I like how it turned out, though it's not the best. :) *I would have done this on my contest entry account, @SavorToday, but I put way too much time & detail into it. ~~~~~~~~~ ♡Credits♡ ~~~~~~~~~ *Thank you to @Rosyda for contest, tea cups, music, and mouse trail code (though hers cloned less frequently), as well as "♡". *Other art & coding by @Hope4Tomorrow *The contest is based on a studio: TEA STUDIO https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/3966129/ *The font is Pacifico.
