Description

notessss Proportions and Anatomy I liked the idea for the pose a lot! However, the way she is slouching is a bit ungraceful, so I decided to have her stand up straight in my redraw. It was difficult to tell what her hands were doing in the original, and her right elbow makes it appear as if her right arm is longer than her left ( technically it was drawn on the same level as the other, but because of the perspective it should have, it looks strange). Lastly, her head was placed too far forward -- when deciding where to put the neck, drawing a line down the middle of the head (disregard the face guidelines if you make them) can give a general idea of where the center of the neck is. Colors/Shading The colors were pretty much referenced accurately from the reference picture. I liked the style you chose for it (and it looks good for bitmap esp.) One note that I'd give is that since there isn't really an opacity or layer option in Scratch, notice that the base color of the sleeves was actually the same color as the skirt, just partially see-through. If it's not possible to make the effect, I'd suggest to just match it with the other clothes. In addition, the hair has a nice shiny look to it, but it looks off most likely because it looks like singular huge clumps instead of strands combining to make the form. Try shading in the smaller chunks of hair as well to add more detail. On Model/Details The basic aspects of the costume are correct. Since you had a reference picture, be sure to utilize it as this is a pre-existing character! For example, certain specifics were forgotten: the shape of the hair decorations, the line under the tattoo, the aqua accents on the sleeves, the headphones, the tie, the side belt, the fact that there are two layers on the skirt, the shape of the bottom of the shirt, and the tech accents on the skirt and sleeves. Don't be afraid to look at your reference often to make sure you're not leaving anything out - that's exactly what it's for! As they say, the devil's in the details. Again, great job on your practice SSG. I can't do stuff like that on bitmap tbh, so that's really impressive to me. But I hope that at least some of the info here is helpful!
