What's a mockup, you ask? It's an easy way for designers to see and think about new ideas without having to do a lot of work. Mockups are "quick and dirty," which means they don't take a lot of time to make, and they aren't polished. Polishing will come later if the design team decides it wants to use the design proposed in the mockup. (That's why the text is so ugly in this one - who cares how it looks now! If the design team decides they like this idea, then we'll worry about making nice looking and well thought out text). This mockup is to show one way of allowing users to register on the Scratch website. I've shared it to the web so other members of ST can view and think about this approach to signup, which I think has some advantages. For one thing, it's a good idea to ask for one piece of information at a time during registration. That way it isn't overwhelming. You can also take the time to explain why you want each piece of information, and who will or will not be able to see it. This idea came from Debra Levin Gelman, who wrote a great article about this here: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/designing-web-registration-forms-for-kids/
