CATZ Episode 1: The Scratching Post Cast: MagicPencil as Meow Meow MagicPencil as Spot SphinxGalaxy as Coal helloyowuzzup as Silver [Logo comes in, theme tune plays, and credits show] SCENE I [We’re inside a house. Meow Meow is scratching at a scratching post. Suddenly we here a tear, and the material holding the scratching stuff to the post peels off. Meow Meow stays there, one paw frozen in mid-scratch.] Meow Meow: Uh oh… My tallwalkers are gonna kill me. [Puts paw down] I better fix it somehow… [Tries to hold it back on with his paw, but it just flaps back off when he lets go. Meow Meow: Well, that’s not going back on. What am I going to do! [We here three clatters of the catflap in a row in the background. Three cats walk into the room. One is black and white with an angular face and amber eyes (Spot). One is black all over with emerald green eyes (Coal). One is a very light silver-grey with brown eyes (Silver). Silver: Hi, Meow Meow. Coal: How ya doing? Spot: Hi. Meow Meow: Guys, you gotta help me. [zoom in on scratching post with dramatic dun, dun duunn.] Coal: How do we fix that? Spot: I’m not sure we can. Coal: [snappily] I know that. I was just being sarcastic. Or something. Silver: Maybe your tallwalkers will understand? Meow Meow: I don’t think so. They were really proud when they brought this back. Spot: We could hide it, maybe? Meow Meow: Great! Uh... but where? And how? Coal: What about under that soft thing there? Meow Meow: You mean the sofa? Coal: Whatever it’s called. But we should hide it under there. Meow Meow: Ok. Sounds easy! [Time card shows up – 5 minutes later] Spot: This is awkward to move. Meow Meow: Just… keep… pushing. Almost… there… [Doorbell rings] Meow Meow: They’re here! You guys better go. I’ll just have to take the punishment. Spot: Sorry, Meow Meow. Silver: Yeah, I’m sorry we couldn’t do it. Coal: What they said. Meow Meow: S’ok. Quick, leave! [They leave and a 12 year-old boy walks in (Peter).] Peter: Here you go, Meow Meow. A new scratching post! The old one was falling apart, wasn’t it! [Places a brand new scratching post down] Meow Meow: Buh… Buh… Buh… Peter: Yeah, you’re excited! [Rubs Meow Meow, who is still speechless, on the head. Then he picks up the old one and walks out. Meow Meow: [turns to the camera] How life goes… SCENE II [Time card – 1 day later] [We see the legs of the two parents.] Dad: He’s sure being gentle with that scratching post. Mum: It’s almost like he doesn’t want to damage it. [We hear Silver call out from the distance] Silver: Hey Meow Meow! Come see this! [Credits music starts to play. Full credits appear over the screen as Meow Meow walks out.]
