Nickname: "CTV in the Sky", "CTV Ribbons" Logo: Over a video of a setting with plants (possibly wheat or dry grass) and an orange sky, we see the CTV logo (which consists of a red circle with a "C", a blue square with a "T" and a green triangle with a "V") at the center, with ribbons flowing from behind them. The ribbons correspond to the colors of the shapes. Trivia: This logo is based off CTV's on-air identity in use from 1998 to 2011. Variants: *From 1998-2005,"CANADIAN TELEVISION" faded in below the logo, with a Bell Globemedia byline following shortly thereafter. *From 2005 on, there is no byline and the letters in "CTV" appear thicker. FX/SFX: The flowing ribbons. This was produced by Pittard Sullivan. Music/Sounds: A high new age-style synth note that is held throughout the logo for the first version, while the second version used a less sudden version with more woodwinds. Availability: Both versions can be seen on Degrassi: The Next Generation on CTV in Canada and TeenNick in the US, and Corner Gas on The Comedy Network in Canada and DVD (the first season had the 1998 version, while the rest of the show had the second variation). The 2005 version was also seen on Instant Star. Scare Factor: Minimal to low; the music could probably catch you off guard. It's lower for those who are used to seeing it.
