Description

~This is the collaborative effort of TheSaint (http://scratch.mit.edu/users/TheSaint), Chrischb (http://scratch.mit.edu/users/Chrischb), Jonathanpb (http://scratch.mit.edu/users/Jonathanpb), soupoftomato (http://scratch.mit.edu/users/soupoftomato), PlayWithFire (http://scratch.mit.edu/users/PlayWithFire), shadow_7283 (http://scratch.mit.edu/users/shadow_7283) and ProgrammingFreak (http://scratch.mit.edu/users/ProgrammingFreak) - the "Teh Saintly Collab Team", for teh Collab Challenge 2011. ~The only rules of the Challenge were to include a beach-ball (the center of the fireball), a blue star (a targeter that follows the mouse) and a squiggle (on the dragon's lair, in the tutorial as a bullet point, used as a dash several times, and on the emperor's wagon). We have done so. ~Instructions: Read the tutorial for a quick glance at the menu bar, then proceed to play. Simply shoot fireballs at incoming peasants, archers, knights, and the occasional royalty by clicking the screen in the general direction of their greedy presence. Upgrade your dragon and wall to help defend yourself. ~NOTE: At this time, there is no music due to the fact that having it on here prevents me from uploading... ~Please critique this project, as it has had a tremendous amount of effort put into it by all of us in the collab, and we would love to hear your thoughts, negative or positive (Mostly positive...) on it, and what you might want from it in the future. ~Remarks from the Scratch Team: This is an exceptionally well crafted game with a simple and compelling storyline, a large cast of enemies, and excellent gameplay. The upgrade system is well thought out, and adds to the tension (it's hard to figure out which upgrade to go with while under attack!). The one thing missing is sound (left out because of technical difficulties, according to comments). Hats off to this collab for working together to create a great game that Scratchers will be playing for a long long time. ~To The Scratch Team: I want to personally thank all of you for throwing this contest. I know that you have been extremely busy with the Scratch 2.0 process, but taking the time to create this has allowed me to work with some of the best scratchers, something that I think we all appreciate. I do hope that there are more challenges like this one planned for the future. ~Don't forget to love it, favorite it, tag it, add it to your gallery, and comment on it. But most importantly love it.
