Meet Annie Jackson, the 14-year-old girl behind a mask of joy. Annie had lived in poverty with a poor family, but was lucky to be able to go to school. However, things were just as bad there as they were at home; she was bullied badly, and the teachers didn't help her out. The bullies always got away with it. But Annie always kept a smile on her face, worn like a mask constantly. One day they took it too far. They beat her up, shoving her into a locker and throwing her to the ground. Annie couldn't take it anymore. The right half of her face cracked and fell off, exposing the ugly hate, sadness, and anger underneath. Frightened, the bullies fled the scene, and Annie soon after as well. The hate had spread to her right arm as well, and she tried her best to take deep breaths and calm down. The darkness stopped spreading. But the effects were irreversible, leaving Annie like this forever. Annie likes music, candy, and fighting for others.
