Hello everyone, welcome to the second snail update. As you probably know, I have two snails, Ravioli and Mr Muffin. I love both of them very much, but it was time for them to be free. They were both pretty old, and I wanted them to die free rather than in a terrarium. Here's a mini story to get you updated: "So, I have Ravioli in a little fish bowl terrarium. She seemed lonely, so I moved her in with Muffy. Turns out that she had laid eggs while in the fishbowl, so I left them there in hope that they could hatch. Unfortunately, the visible ones (above the dirt and moss) molded over and never hatched. I then gave up hope of having 'grandchildren'. Until today..." After I let my big snails go, I cleaned out both terrariums, the one with moldy eggs (eew) and the one that used to have my snails in it. I was sifting through the dirt from the egg "nursery" to see if I had missed anything. Apparently I had! I spotted two little, nubby snails sitting there contentedly under some moss. I almost had a heart attack right then. But nope, it was real, and I had found the children of my children. I guess their eggs were buried and hatched safely! They are so adorable, unlike any other baby snail I've seen. Their shells have only one swirl, and they are bigger than other hatchlings. I have both in separate habitats (one for me and one for my sister), because they look a lot alike. I named mine Cavatappi, which is a type of pasta, and my sister's is Princess Pickles, after a character in a show. I'll keep you all updated!!
