Sweetberry let out a screech of surprise as something heavy landed on top of her. Teeth sank into her shoulder. Sweetberry twisted her head to get a better view if her attacker and saw Suncreek. Her sister. But there was no time to think. Suncreek swiped her claws at Sweetberry's ear, and Sweetberry yowled with pain and anger. Then she saw Driftstar. He was watching. Watching, as Sweetberry struggled to fight her sister. Watching, as he pinned down Larktail with a single paw. A test, Sweetberry realized. A test on where her loyalties lied. Just as Suncreek reared back for another blow, Sweetberry rolled over, throwing the creamy golden she-cat off her. As Suncreek slammed into the ground, Sweetberry leaped over her and sliced her claws across her sister's furious face. Again and again. Finally, Suncreek wriggled away and fled without looking back.
