Slowly, Sweetberry stepped into the river. At first, the feeling of cold water lapping her paws was uncomfortable. But after several heartbeats, it didn't feel so bad. Then something shoved her from behind, and she landed with a splash into the river. For a second, panic shot through and she flailed her paws desperately. But it was replaced by annoyance as she resurfaced and shook out her pelt. "You did that on purpose!" she accused Ripplestrike. His dark blue eyes gleamed. "If you want to learn to swim, you'll need to go a little faster," he purred. Sweetberry's whiskers twitched. "Alright then, why not instead of pushing me in the river, you go out and show me?" she demanded. "Gladly," Ripplestrike replied, leaping into the river. "Swimming's real easy. It's like running, but in water. One step after another," he meowed. Sweetberry began to move her paws as though she were running. She kicked her legs to push herself further out, and to her amazement, she glided out into the river beside him. A small wave swept her against him, and they rolled over in the water. Sweetberry spluttered and thrust her head back above the water. It was great just being with Ripplestrike.
