There is a backstory: These are three sisters. They were lost in a flood. The grey one with white spots is Snowstorm, the whit one with ginger patches and brown paws is Petal, and the blue-grey one with darker spots is Heron. Snowstorm ends up on the moor, Petal on the edge of the forest, and Heron on the street.
