Run as fast as felinely possible! Press the up arrow key, W, or Z (or tap the screen if on mobile) to hop over the spikes. Don't let your hit points (HP) reach zero! Note: Hitting a spike makes you briefly invincible. Use this tip to your advantage!
I played a game called "Another Cave Runner" (http://www.kongregate.com/games/arkuni/another-cave-runner) and wanted to create a project about running faster and faster while avoiding hazards. The original game didn't have a speedometer, so I thought, "Why not design a project that HAS one?" and here it is! I hope you enjoy it! ;) --- CHANGELOG --- (1/28/2020) - Spikes now spawn only once every "screen." - Miles per hour, distance, and health update instantly rather than every second. - Changed the title (originally "The Good Old Hopper-Runner"). - Spikes are drawn better, and they don't blend in with the background bushes anymore. - Health is now more easily determined. - Changed the sky from a plain light blue to a sunrise/sunset color gradient. - You may now press W or Z to jump. The "Z to jump" option supports less common keyboard layouts than QWERTY, like AZERTY. - Added death costumes for the Scratch Cat. (8/26/2020) - The pitch of the Scratch Cat's "meow" gets higher the faster you run. (8/31/2020) - Made the project mobile-friendly! You can now tap the screen to jump. - Simplified the cloud variable so that it only allows for the fastest speed. I'll still find a way for usernames to be included! - Made the hopping mechanics more consistent and challenging. (9/1/2020) - Fixed the bug that caused the Scratch Cat to have the same speed up/down if you tapped the screen while in the air. - Reverted the cloud variables to allow for usernames, which should now properly show up (and hopefully remain) for those who are the fastest! #game #hopandrun #survival #mobilefriendly
