Background info: Having been neglected in the early stages of life-Hex sort of formed a new, happier world for himself. When a hunter's dog almost scratched his eye out, Hex went into this little fantasy of his and pretended he had just fought off the evil spirits and saved his imaginary friends and family. Hex, today, still has his little world, but his depression has taken it over. He no longer goes to it, seeking happiness. A shadow has taken over. He has become absorbed by the reality of real-life. As he seeks friendship from the most un-likely places, the shadow slowly gets darker until the imaginary world has gone. Hex, at first, is hopeful that the shadow will lift, but, in fact, it is the shadow, saving him from a fake life, in a fake world and forces him to realise-that to have friends and be happy, he has to seek it out himself.
