Miriam is a German character in my novel (Also my name!) which takes place during the Holocaust. Her peaceful village is in the middle of a battlefield and her house gets blown to pieces, but her Mutter (mother) is not there. She is forced to flee in the woods, only wearing her nightgown, robe, and slippers. The only thing she was able to salvage was a photo of her mother. More soon!
