Description

My attempt at a jigsaw puzzle. The image is a quick drawing done with Artrage. A chamois is a wild animal. It looks like a goat and lives in the European mountains. Sound from GarageBand. I used Gimp to chop the image into puzzle pieces, this was the most difficult and hardest part of the whole project and a lot of work. How I made the puzzle pieces with Gimp: After changing the size of the image to 400x300 I opened the image in Gimp. I made a white new layer and opened Filters -> Render -> Pattern -> Jigsaw. In the dialog box I changed the numbers of Tiles to: Horizontal = 5 and Vertical = 4. Then I chose the layer with the puzzle and selected the first piece with the Fuzzy selection tool and chose the layer with the image and cut it out. After making a new transparent layer and pasting the piece I clicked on the anchor in the layer window. The first piece was ready. For the 3D look I did this: I selected the puzzle piece layer, duplicated it and colored the piece in white. I did this with the paintbrush (I checked Keep transparency, when ready I unchecked it.) Then I applied a Gaussian Blur filter (Filters -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur). I switched to the piece layer and applied a Bump filter (Filters -> Map -> Bump Map). I selected from the Bump Map drop-down the blurred white piece. Ready.
