Suncreek grew up as a loyal WindClan warrior. She was ambitious and proud of her Clan, and worked as hard as she could to serve WindClan. Inside, she had a burning desire to be the next deputy. It was a well-known fact that Skyflight, the deputy, was retiring soon. So, of course, she was furious when Harestar chose her sister over her. Afterwards, Suncreek still worked hard, hunting and fighting for her Clan, but not in the same way she used to. She wanted to be deputy, and every time she saw her sister, sharing tongues with Harestar or organizing patrols, her heart twisted with jealousy. She waited and waited for the day to come where she could be deputy, and then leader, of WindClan. Then, one day, Harestar returned to camp with news that his trusted deputy and Suncreek's sister, Sweetberry, had betrayed her Clan for a RiverClan warrior. Suncreek was deeply shocked and furious at her sister's betrayal. But inside, a part of her realized what had happened. Sweetberry, surely, would not be able to continue being deputy. So Harestar would have to appoint another. And Suncreek wanted that to be her. Then Harestar announced Sweetberry's punishment: she had been exiled. Suncreek was torn between sorrow and excitement.
