Description

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (often called "Wolfie" by his friends for short) was born on January 27 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He was the 6th child of his parents, even though only he and his older sister, Maria Anna (often called Nannerl for short) lived past one year. He died on December 5 1791 in Vienna, Austria, sadly, only 35 years old. His father, Leopold Mozart, also a composer and musician, taught Wolfie how to play the harpsichord at the age of three. At 5, Wolfie started composing his very first pieces of music for the harpsichord. When he was six, he taught himself how to play the violin, because his father had a two musicians come to his house to practice a piece he had composed for two violins and a harpsichord. Wolfie had a violin because his father bought him one for his birthday. He had not had lessons yet. When the musicians were playing, wolfie grabbed his violin, looked at the sheet music of the piece that one of the musicians, Johann Schachtner was using, and started playing. When Johann made a mistake and stopped playing, wolfie continued. He was playing it correctly! Everyone was astonished. He had taught himself how to play the violin! Later he taught himself how to play the organ, viola, and piano. When he was eight, he went on a tour to play in concerts for famous people throughout Europe. In England, he met Johann Christian Bach, son of Johann Sebastian Bach (link for Bach Playlist https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/155910232/ ). He met the empress of Austria, Maria Theresa (before he went on the tour). When his dad was sick, he wrote his first symphony, k.16, at 9 years old, for time to pass quickly. And other than those there is much more stuff I know about Mozart and about his life but it will take like a day to read.
