(there were 500 passengers) once they took off, there was a flock of birds, and some of the birds got caught in the engines and both of the engines on the plane BROKE. the radio man said that they still had enough power to got to the nearest airport. but the pilot (named Sully) had different plans........... Sally decided to land in the Hudson River because he knew that the plane would blow up before they get to the airport. so the airplane landed on the Hudson River. Do you know why it's called the "MIRACLE on the Hudson"? It's because EVERYONE on board survived. boats came and took the people to the shore.
