Changes to scene of boy playing guitar. The boy is wearing a pair of blue flannel pajamas. He appears to be seven or eight years old. The parents (show only their legs) are watching. HAVE CREDITS COME IN HERE. The boy finishes playing and gets up with his parents. Vague murmurs are heard, mentioning Christmas tomorrow, presents, etc. Meow Meow: [thinking, have slight echo] He’s a good boy, [chuckles quietly] especially for a human. I wonder what Christmas is? They’ve done it before. Every year. But what is it? I still don’t quite understand. Here show title: ‘A Meow Meow Christmas’ SCENE II We see Meow Meow come out through a cat flap. It is dark, and the only light is that of a streetlamp. Meow Meow: [calling] Spot? Spooooot? We here a yowl, then Spot pads in. Spot: Spot? You know how tomorrow, every year, every human does this big thing where they have a lot of shiny boxes and then they open them and there’s stuff inside? And there’s a lot of lights? Spot: Yeah? Meow Meow: Well, what is that called? Spot: Er.. I don’t really know. Sorry. Meow Meow: That’s OK. Coal? Coaaaaaal? We here a yowl, then Coal pads in. Coal: Whaddya want, Meow Meow? You scared off my mouse. Spot: He wants to know what that big thing is tomorrow, with all the lights and stuff. Coal: How should I know? I don’t go anywhere near humans usually. Try Silver. Meow Meow: Ok. Silver? Siiilllver? We here a yowl, then Silver pads in\ Silver: Hi guys! What is it? Meow Meow: What’s that big thing tomorrow called? And what’s it about? Silver: You mean with all the shiny boxes and lights? Spot: Uhhhhh, guys? [he is ignored] Meow Meow: Yeah. Silver: Ummm…. I’m sorry, Meow Meow but I don’t really know. Coal: Well, its not like she would. We can’t understand what humans say, can we. Spot: Guys, ummm…. [he is ignored again] Meow Meow: We never learn anything new around here. Coal: That’s because there’s nothing new to learn. Nothing interesting ever happens. Spot: GUYS! MM, Si and C: WHAT! Spot: There’s a big shiny box with lights falling out of the sky at us right now. [all look up] Meow Meow: Coooalll. You jinxed us. Coal: Well, soorrry! Si and Sp: Get OUT OF THE WAY! MM and C Of what? [Silver does a facepalm] Spot: Of the big, shining, box with lights! Meow Meow: Ah. That box. [The scene erupts into white snow] SCENE III [We see a collapsed sleigh, with Reindeer bearing tangled reins lying all over. A clip of dramatic music plays, and we see a figure, only in shadow from the light behind him, wearing a santa hat Then he steps out of the shadow, and we see a boy of the age of 12. He is dressed as Father Christmas in the stereotypical, tight-fitting suit.] Meow Meow: It’s a human! Coal: [dryly] You don’t say. Son of Christmas: I’ve been having a little trouble… Silver: How can I understand him? MM, Sp, C We can too! SoC: You can understand me ‘cause I can speak all languages. Including feline! But not to say that feline is the best, because that wouldn’t be very nice. You know what I mean. Spot: Ummm…. not really SoC: That’s ok! [awkward silence] SoC: So, umm… I crashed here ‘cause my instincts told me that this is where the animals are that will help me. You know, to save Christmas. And maybe the world too.
