the chaos shroom makes mario very strong (so it takes 2 hits before the power goes away but the chaos shroom's power leaves mario at the end of the level) and he can shoot dark balls of antimatter that kill all non bosses, for bosses the dark balls are like 3 fire balls so it's a very strong power up
