Choose your background colour and pen colour, then click Go. You will then be asked for the number of times the pattern will repeat. Just hold down the mouse button to draw, release to move without drawing. Press C to clear while keeping your selections for colours and number of repetitions. Press P to choose another pen colour while keeping what you've drawn so far. (Thanks to Paddle2See for the suggestion.)

A modified version of my project to draw a snowflake http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/15008960/ This one allows you to choose the number of times the pattern is repeated and I've added colour control for the background and pen. The original idea was just to be able to demonstrate rotational and mirror symmetry but it's a nice graphics tool as well. This was my first use of clones.
