Click on the dice type to add it to your roll. For example, to roll 3d6, click on d6 3 times. To clear click the clear dice button. To set a character name, click on "character" and enter a name. To set the reason for a roll, click on "reason" and enter it. To make the roll, click on the roll button. The result appears in the rolls box below. You can cut and paste the text from that box. Results are stored on the server in the form of a checksum. If you have a checksum you can press the "check roll" button to retrieve the individual dice results.
