Instructions

Coding Dance! Use this Scratch Game to do a Coding Dance (Icebreaker/Brain Break Activity). How to: 1. Group should be standing up so as to do the moves. 2. Press Green flag 3.When Intro is finished, Push letter A 4. Have group imitate Robot doing letter A (press A again to repeat dance as needed) 5. Press B - repeat step 4 6. Press C - repeat step 4 7. Now that everyone knows the 3 steps, explain that we're going to CODE using those 3 letters (A,B, C). 8. Press Space Bar to show 3 Robots doing Dance Step Review 9. Start with an Easy Code, such as A B C - do the dance steps in sequence. 10. Try out a few other combinations using 3 or 4 letters in a row. 11. Move onto harder codes - e.g., AACBACC. Feel free to ask the group for input or ideas for new codes to try. 12. Add ons: *Add new steps - D, E. Crowd source the moves. Make sure to practice new move together before trying out code. *Add in Repeats *Divide group in half spatially down the middle - have each half do a different code simultaneously. *Add in If/Then codes - e.g., IF your shoes have laces, THEN do AAB; else do CCB. *Pair up and have people "decode" the dance steps - one person does a code dance, and the other person tells them what the code is. *Be open to new ideas and things to add!
