Instructions

Imagine you were the size of a molecule. What would the world sound like to you? This project plays a sound every time two molecules collide. When molecules collide, they turn red, also. (Well, real molecules don't turn red when they collide, just the ones in this project!) Click the green flag and type how many molecules you want to put on the field (your density). Click the check mark to enter your number, then click the Spacebar to start the action!

Description

Note: This model does not use physics to determine the motion of these "molecules"! I am just setting them to change direction randomly, which is not how molecules in a gas or liquid would really behave if they collided with one another. It's a conceptual approximation, only! Also, I do not know if molecules make any sound at all when they collide! The sound here is being added just to help us perceive how the frequency of collisions changes as the number of molecules is increased or decreased.
