She once was a stray cat (with magic powers, but anything can happen in Wonderland), but after the Queen of Hearts was destroying the universe, she used the last of her card magic (which was weakened because of the destroying of the universe) and escaped Wonderland. She has to cope with the regular world's "unnatural-ness" and regain her card magic to return to Wonderland. (she is unaware of Alice's return)
